Long story short: I want to build Zulip without the isolated accounts (like Discord), but without Discord’s ego-flattering interface either. What I’m after is a platform where ideas take off from daily conversation (like Roomy) — and that’s as easy to use as WeChat.
The old open internet doesn’t offer enough. Forums demand isolated logins that casual users can’t be bothered to remember.
Proprietary chat apps, while simple enough to use, always lag behind the latest technology, and their user experience falls short of what I hope for.
As a Buddhist practitioner, I hope this platform can bring people relief from suffering and towards nirvana. Like nirvana itself, my vision for this platform can’t be fully put into words, so bear with me while I put it into code instead.
